Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10 Mini was the cutest Android phone we have ever seen, but it failed to charm the U.S. carriers and none of them picked it up. New leaked pictures suggest that Sony Ericsson will once again take a shot at the small form factor, but now they are beefing up the specs.
This time around Sony Ericsson will pack a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor into the pint sized phone and match it with a 3 inch display. Details are limited at this point, but it appears the device will launch with Android 2.3 and sport a front-facing camera and slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
The original Xperia X10 Mini was announced at the last Mobile World Congress and we expect they will do the same for the sequel. We will be in Barcelona to check out MWC, so check back in February for a hands-on report.
Rumored specs for the new Xperia Mini include:
* Android 2.3
* 1 GHz Snapdragon CPU with Adreno 205 GPU
* 3.0 inch screen (320 x 480)
* Rear and front-facing camera
* Slide out QWERTY keyboard
